Since 2020, the brand has been dedicated to promoting mental health awareness alongside beauty products. Now, Gomez is unveiling the latest addition to the Rare Beauty family: the True To Myself Tinted Pressed Finishing Powder.
Gomez emphasizes the personal significance of the product’s name, reflecting her growth and self-acceptance journey. “Being true to myself means being unafraid of being me,” she shares. “I have grown so much over the years and at this point in my life I am really comfortable in my own skin.” The powder, previewed last month at the Met Gala by Gomez’s makeup artist Hung Vanngo, promises a light blurring effect while subtly mattifying the skin. It’s also vegan, talc-free, and available in 14 shades.
Gomez describes the powder as a multi-tasking product, perfect for touch-ups throughout the day, whether on bare skin or over makeup. “It never feels dry,” she says. “It really brings out the best in my skin because it gets rid of excess oil while still letting my natural skin peek through.” For those with oily skin, she recommends using the accompanying Soft Touch Powder Puff for a more precise application.
With this latest launch, Gomez is looking forward to a relaxing summer, spending time with loved ones and enjoying outdoor activities. “I have a little bit of time off so I’m excited about spending some time outdoors with my friends and family—I love a good beach day,” she says. “Quality time with the ones I love is so important to me.”
