Prepare to be whisked back to Waverly Place! Disney+ has unveiled the first glimpse of the highly anticipated reboot of the beloved series ‘Wizards of Waverly Place,’ now titled ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.’ The original series, which ran from 2007 to 2012, launched Selena Gomez into superstardom, following the Russo family’s magical adventures. Now, a decade later, the series picks up with Justin Russo, who has chosen a life of normalcy, but his sister Alex’s arrival throws his world into chaos.
The reboot will see Justin juggling the responsibilities of adult life with his newfound role as a mentor to aspiring young magicians. He’ll be forced to dust off his magical skills and confront challenges that threaten the future of the magical world. The cast also includes the return of David Henrie as Justin, alongside new faces like Alvaro Quintero and Max Matenko.
Selena Gomez, who not only stars but also serves as executive producer, reveals the heart behind the reboot: “David and I prioritized recreating the cultural family we all felt connected to. We were able to capture the love and encouragement that was so important to us and I think audiences will feel it on the screen.”
Get ready for a magical ride as the Russo family returns, navigating a world where magic and family intertwine. ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ is set to premiere on Disney+ later this year.
