A tragic collision between a double-decker bus and a car claimed the lives of seven people on the Agra Lucknow Expressway near Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, early Sunday morning. The accident occurred around 12:30 am, according to a police official.
The double-decker bus, en route to Delhi from Raebareli, was carrying 60 passengers, four of whom lost their lives in the crash. Tragically, all three individuals traveling in the car also succumbed to their injuries.
The Etawah Senior Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Kumar Verma, stated that 25-30 passengers on the bus sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
“A double-decker bus going from Raebareli to Delhi collided with a car at around 12:30 am. There were 60 people on the bus, out of which 4 people died and about 20-25 people were injured, who have been admitted to the hospital. 3 people who were there in the car also died. A total of 7 people have died,” said Kumar, as reported by ANI.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and highlights the need for increased vigilance on highways.
