A tragic incident occurred in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, where seven youths lost their lives while bathing in the Banganga river. The group, consisting of eight youths from Srinagar village, had gone to the river for a swim. One after another, they slipped into deep water and drowned, including three cousins. The deceased have been identified as Bhupendra Jatav (18), Shantanu Jatav (18), Lakkhi Jatav (20), Pawan Jatav (22), Pawan Singh Jatav (20), Saurabh Jatav (18), and Gaurav Jatav (16). According to Bayana Sadar SHO Balram Yadav, one youth managed to escape the incident. Villagers discovered the bodies and promptly contacted the police. Following post-mortem examinations, the bodies were handed over to the families.
In a separate incident, a house collapse in the Nadi Darwaza area of Karauli district resulted in the deaths of two individuals, including a child. The victims were identified as Zakir Khan (35) and Jiya Khan (12). The incident occurred around 7:15 AM, as confirmed by the Principal Medical Officer (PMO) of the Government Hospital, Ramkesh. He stated that initial reports indicated multiple casualties, with two bodies, those of Jiya Khan and her father Zakir Khan, being transported to the hospital. Additionally, three individuals with minor injuries were brought in, receiving first aid or further medical attention. Police investigation revealed that at least five people were trapped under the rubble following the collapse. Rescue efforts led to the recovery of the two deceased and three injured individuals. The officials attributed the house collapse to its dilapidated state due to heavy rainfall.
