Pakistan’s formidable pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has cemented his status as the nation’s top T20I bowler, securing a coveted spot among the ICC’s latest rankings. The 24-year-old has ascended two notches to 17th overall, fueled by his stellar performance in Pakistan’s ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. Afridi has emerged as the series’ leading wicket-taker through the initial three matches. His impressive haul of 3/13 in Pakistan’s decisive seven-wicket triumph over the Kiwis in the second game propelled him up the rankings, surpassing his teammate Haris Rauf. England’s Adil Rashid continues to reign supreme as the number one T20I bowler, while New Zealand’s Ish Sodhi has made substantial progress, climbing five spots to 18th on the back of his three wickets in the series against Pakistan. India’s Suryakumar Yadav remains the undisputed leader in the T20I rankings for batters. New Zealand’s Tim Seifert and Mark Chapman have also made significant strides. Seifert has risen three places to 24th, while Chapman’s unbeaten half-century and Player of the Match performance in the third game of the series in Pakistan have earned him a remarkable 12-place jump to 33rd overall. Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, has slipped one spot to fifth in the T20I rankings for batters, while Mohammad Rizwan holds steadfast in third place.
