Sharks Part Ways with Head Coach David Quinn and Athletic Trainer Ray Tufts

Following an internal evaluation process, the San Jose Sharks have announced the departure of head coach David Quinn and head athletic trainer Ray Tufts. General Manager Mike Grier explained that the decision was made after careful consideration of the team’s current status and future goals. Quinn, who joined the Sharks in 2022, posted a record of 41-98-25 in 164 games. Prior to his tenure in San Jose, Quinn had a brief stint as head coach of the New York Rangers. Grier expressed his gratitude for Quinn’s efforts and highlighted his positive qualities as both a coach and an individual.

In addition to Quinn’s departure, the Sharks have also bid farewell to Ray Tufts, who served as the team’s head athletic trainer for over two decades. Grier acknowledged Tufts’ dedication to the organization and wished him and his family well in their future endeavors.

The changes within the Sharks’ coaching and medical staff signify a shift in the team’s direction as they look to improve their performance and build a stronger foundation for the future.
