Shekhar Suman’s Heartbreaking Loss: Finding Solace in Acting After Losing His Son

Veteran actor Shekhar Suman has poured his heart out about the devastating loss of his son, Aayush, who passed away at the tender age of ten. Suman, now 60, vividly recalls the overwhelming pain and despair that consumed him following the tragedy.

Speaking candidly with Siddharth Kannan, Suman described his grief as a profound void within his soul, leaving him utterly bereft and without the will to live. He remembers beating his head on the ground in anguish, unable to fathom the loss of his beloved son.

In the aftermath of his son’s passing, Suman lost all interest in pursuing success or wealth. He felt lifeless, merely going through the motions of smiling or working out of economic necessity to support his family. The desire to truly live had evaporated.

However, during that period of profound sorrow, Suman found a glimmer of solace in acting. He was deeply moved when Sanjay Leela Bhansali praised the acting skills of his other son, Adhyayan. In Bhansali’s upcoming historical drama series, Suman portrays Zulfiqar Ahmed, a character exuding authority and sophistication, while Adhyayan embodies Zorawar Ali Khan, a wealthy and arrogant nawab driven by self-interest.

The upcoming historical drama series promises to immerse viewers in an era where courtesans held sway as rulers. Set against the tumultuous backdrop of India’s struggle for independence in the 1940s, the show delves into the cultural landscape of Heera Mandi through the narratives of courtesans and their clients.
