A sheriff dispatched to the Helderkruin residence of City of Johannesburg manager Floyd Brink in order to enforce an arrest warrant has been met with resistance, News24 understands. The warrant was issued following the city’s failure to comply with a court order prohibiting them from disconnecting utilities. According to a well-informed source, the sheriff arrived at the Roodepoort property on Wednesday morning to execute the warrant. However, their efforts were thwarted by 13 unmarked vehicles. The vehicles reportedly formed an entourage and blocked the sheriff’s path, claiming that the warrant was invalid due to a typo that listed ‘Blink’ instead of ‘Brink’ as the intended subject. News24 has learned that Brink’s legal team has arrived at the scene and is currently communicating with the sheriff. The situation remains fluid, and further updates are anticipated.
