Shinde Confident of Mahayuti’s Victory, Criticizes INDIA Bloc’s Constitution Claims
During a campaign rally in Pimpri Chinchwad, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed confidence in the Mahayuti alliance’s success. He stated that the government’s focus on development has created a favorable environment for victory. Accompanying Barne, the BJP candidate from Maval constituency, Shinde predicted that Barne would secure a third term as the MP for Maval.
Shinde praised the developmental achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past decade. He emphasized the government’s efforts to replicate the Centre’s model of development at the state level, stating, ‘In just 10 years, PM Narendra Modi has achieved a level of development for India that was never witnessed in 50 years.’
Later, Shinde participated in a rally in Ahmednagar alongside Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. BJP nominee Sujay Vikhe Patil (Ahmednagar) and Shiv Sena candidate Sadashiv Lokhande (Shirdi) filed their nominations.
Shinde criticized the statements made by leaders of the INDIA bloc regarding the NDA’s supposed aim to change the constitution. He questioned whether the bloc had ever celebrated Constitution Day while in power and highlighted that it was Prime Minister Modi who had initiated the tradition in 2015.
Shinde also addressed the Shiv Sena’s decision to align with the Congress, noting that the party’s founder, Balasaheb Thackeray, had always been wary of such an alliance. He claimed that Uddhav Thackeray’s decision to join hands with the Congress led to the downfall of the Shiv Sena. He emphasized that the party had to move out of the alliance to protect the teachings of Balasaheb.
