Shiv Sena (UBT) Manifesto: Focus on Stopping ‘Loot’, Job Creation, and Farm Loan Waiver

The Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Uddhav Thackeray, has released its manifesto, outlining its goals for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. The manifesto places a strong emphasis on addressing key issues affecting the state of Maharashtra, including stopping corruption, generating employment opportunities, and providing relief to farmers through loan waivers.

The manifesto vows to establish a financial city within Maharashtra, a move that is expected to create significant employment opportunities and boost the state’s economy. Recognizing the need to address the issue of migration from rural to urban areas, the manifesto also commits to creating jobs at the district level, ensuring that individuals can find employment closer to their homes.

In a bid to support the agricultural sector, the manifesto promises to waive farm loans and revise the terms of crop insurance. Furthermore, it proposes to exempt agricultural equipment and seeds from GST (Goods and Services Tax) to reduce the financial burden on farmers. The manifesto also pledges to implement the Minimum Support Price (MSP) as recommended by the Swaminathan Committee report, ensuring fair returns for agricultural produce.

The release of the Shiv Sena (UBT) manifesto comes ahead of the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be held on Friday. Eight seats in Maharashtra, namely Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal-Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, and Parbhani, will go to polls in this phase. The manifesto aims to resonate with voters’ concerns and guide the party’s campaign efforts as it seeks to secure their support in the upcoming elections.
