Television star and Bigg Boss Marathi winner Shiv Thakare was surprised and overwhelmed when he discovered that a fan had gotten his face tattooed on their arm. However, the gesture also raised concerns for Thakare.
“What if he doesn’t like any of my projects tomorrow and starts hating me? I don’t want to do anything that would hurt him,” Thakare said.
The fan, who hails from Nasik, contacted Thakare and expressed his admiration. Thakare informed the fan that they could collaborate on social work initiatives.
“When I was in Bigg Boss, a lady gave birth to her baby while I was inside the house. On the first day, she used her baby’s finger to vote for me and named him Shiv,” Thakare recalled.
While Thakare appreciates the affection shown by his fans, he urges them to support his work instead of resorting to extreme gestures.
“It’s great that people love you, but when things become so extreme, it worries me that even a small mistake could hurt them. It creates tension and pressure. If you love me, support my work. I only need your prayers because prayers are very precious these days,” he said.
Earlier this year, Thakare narrowly missed winning the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ) trophy, but he remains undeterred.
“Just being selected for the show was a huge achievement for me. Where I come from, lakhs of people dream of appearing on TV just once. I’ve been on TV for the past two years. Three years ago, nobody knew who Shiv Thakare was, but today I am here,” he emphasized.
Thakar sees reality shows like Bigg Boss, JDJ, and Khatron Ke Khiladi as stepping stones towards his ultimate goal of becoming an actor in big movies.
“I want to start with small steps because I don’t have any connections in the industry. I don’t want to advance my career through controversy,” he said.
Thakare will soon appear in a music video, a step he took after careful consideration.
“There’s a history of Bigg Boss contestants doing music videos and then disappearing. I don’t want my name to be on that list. This is just one step towards achieving my dreams,” he concluded.
