The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) is gearing up for the upcoming Navratri festival, which draws massive crowds of devotees. To manage the anticipated surge in pilgrims and ensure a smooth and safe journey, the board has implemented several key measures.
One of the most significant changes is the introduction of eight new registration counters at Katra Station, bringing the total number of registration points to 47. These new counters, operational from 5 AM, provide pilgrims with greater convenience and flexibility when registering upon their arrival.
To further enhance security during the festival period, the SMVDSB has made RFID cards mandatory for all pilgrims. These cards will help track the movement of devotees, allowing for better crowd control and management. The CEO, Anshul Garg, highlighted the importance of these security upgrades, which also include the deployment of additional security forces and quick response teams.
The SMVDSB has also collaborated with local authorities and security agencies to strengthen security protocols. This collaborative effort will utilize drones and CCTV cameras along the pilgrimage route and within the shrine area for real-time surveillance and monitoring.
These comprehensive security measures, including the new registration counters, RFID cards, increased security personnel, and advanced surveillance technology, are all designed to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims throughout the Navratri festivities, which will take place from October 3 to October 12. The SMVDSB is dedicated to providing a safe and seamless pilgrimage experience for all devotees during this important religious festival.
