Shubhankar Sharma, who is gearing up for the Paris Olympics in August, faced a challenging third round at the KLM Open in Amsterdam. After narrowly making the cut in the second round, Sharma posted a 3-over 74 on the third day, dropping him to a tie for 67th place. His round was marred by two double bogeys on the fourth and 18th holes, despite a pair of birdies on those holes in the first two rounds. He finished the day with four birdies, three bogeys, and two doubles.
Meanwhile, Jeev Milkha Singh enjoyed a successful second round at the OFX Irish Legends Golf Championship, a part of the Legends Tour Europe. He shot a 4-under 68, propelling him to a tied-seventh position. Singh’s round was highlighted by six birdies and a single bogey, a significant improvement from his first round which included two double bogeys. His combined score of 2-under after two rounds places him among the top contenders.
Jyoti Randhawa, the Legends Tour Q-School winner, finished the second round tied for 13th after shooting a 71-72. He managed only one birdie on the 16th hole, offset by a bogey on the 18th, and parred the rest of the course.
Paul Lawrie, the 1999 Open champion, leads the OFX Irish Legends going into the final round at Seapoint Golf Links in Ireland. He is aiming for his fourth Legends Tour title. Lawrie shot a 70 in the second round, battling through challenging conditions of overcast skies, strong winds, and rain. This made for a difficult links test for the players.
