Shubman Gill’s Duleep Trophy Stint Cut Short by Saini’s Stunning Delivery

India’s batting sensation, Shubman Gill, suffered a dramatic end to his Duleep Trophy campaign. Despite a promising start, Gill fell victim to a brilliant delivery from pacer Navdeep Saini during the match between India A and India B at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Gill, who had already struck three boundaries and reached a score of 25, appeared to be in fine form. However, Saini had other plans. He delivered a stunning ball that left Gill’s stumps in disarray. Misjudging the delivery, which appeared to be drifting wide, Gill decided to leave the ball, assuming it posed no threat. To his surprise, the ball sharply deviated, dismantling his stumps and leaving him bewildered at the crease. Saini, on the other hand, erupted in celebration, having successfully dismissed the talented batsman.

This dismissal not only ended Gill’s innings but also showcased Saini’s skills. Having been part of the triumphant Indian team in the Border-Gavaskar series under Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership, Saini’s performance reinforces his strong contention for a spot in the upcoming Bangladesh Test series. The first Test match is scheduled to commence at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on September 19th, with the second Test slated to take place at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from September 27th.
