The Shyft Group, a leading manufacturer of specialty vehicles in North America, has achieved a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainable transportation. Its Blue Arc Class 4 EV truck has earned both Zero-Emission Powertrain Certification (ZEPCert) and a Heavy-Duty Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Enhanced Electric Executive Order from the California Air Resources Board (CARB). These certifications pave the way for the Blue Arc truck to be sold across all 50 states, bringing innovative electric vehicle solutions to a wider audience.
John Dunn, President and CEO of The Shyft Group, highlighted the importance of these certifications, stating, “Achieving ZEPCert and GHG certifications validates the performance and reliability of our zero-emission powertrains, boosting confidence in the durability and efficiency of our EV trucks. This underscores our commitment to delivering advanced, environmentally responsible solutions that facilitate the transition to electrified fleets and contribute to a greener future.”
Beyond nationwide availability, the Blue Arc EV truck now qualifies for the Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP). This program offers substantial financial incentives, including additional support for small fleets and disadvantaged communities, encouraging the adoption of cleaner and more efficient commercial trucks. These incentives come in the form of point-of-sale discounts, making the transition to electric vehicles more financially attractive for fleet operators.
Furthermore, customers in states with zero-emission truck regulations can also leverage various state and federal incentive programs, further reducing costs and accelerating the return on investment for those embracing electric vehicles. The Shyft Group’s commitment to providing nationwide access to the Blue Arc EV truck, coupled with attractive financial incentives, demonstrates its dedication to leading the charge towards a more sustainable future in the commercial transportation sector.
