Sindh Apex Committee Tackles Street Crimes and Katcha Dacoits

The Sindh apex committee, headed by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, has announced a two-pronged approach to combat the growing menace of street crimes and abductions for ransom by katcha dacoits.

Crackdown on Street Crimes

In order to curb street crimes, particularly mobile snatching and vehicle theft, the committee has decided to implement strict measures.

Monitoring of Stolen Property

: The sale of stolen or snatched mobile phones and vehicles will be closely monitored in Karachi markets.

Reactivation of Shaheen Force

: A dedicated motorcycle squad of 386 motorcycles will be deployed for patrolling during peak hours.

Revamping of Madadgar-15

: This service will be enhanced to provide better assistance to citizens in distress.

Establishment of Police Pickets

: Additional police pickets will be set up along the left bank of the River Indus.

Combating Katcha Dacoits

To tackle the issue of abductions by katcha dacoits, the committee has directed law enforcement agencies to take the following steps:

Containment of Dacoits

: Police pickets will be strengthened to contain dacoits within the katcha area.

Crackdown on Ransom Funding

: Recovery of ransom from families of kidnapped individuals will be considered terror financing, and those involved will be targeted.

Intelligence-Based Operations

: Intelligence work will be intensified to identify and apprehend individuals facilitating ransom collection.

The committee emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between law enforcement agencies and citizens to effectively address these security challenges and ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Sindh.
