Singapore Airlines Adjusts Safety Protocols and Flight Routes After Turbulence Incident

Due to a recent turbulence incident, Singapore Airlines has implemented changes to its in-flight safety protocols and flight routes to prioritize passenger safety. Effective immediately, the airline will no longer serve hot drinks or meals when the seatbelt sign is illuminated. This measure aims to mitigate the risk of spills and potential injuries during unexpected turbulence.

The SQ321 London-Singapore flight on a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, encountered severe turbulence on Tuesday. As a result, the flight diverted to Bangkok for an emergency landing. The incident resulted in one passenger fatality and several injuries among passengers and crew.

Consequent to the incident, SQ321 has revised its flight route to avoid the area of turbulence encountered during the previous flight. The airline has also implemented thorough inspections of its aircraft and enhanced training procedures for its cabin crew to handle turbulence-related emergencies effectively.

Singapore Airlines remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew members. The airline continuously reviews its safety protocols and procedures to adapt to evolving circumstances and enhance its response to potential emergencies.
