The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is seeking proposals to develop and operate a wellness attraction at the Marina South Coastal site. This project is a key element of STB’s strategy to boost wellness tourism and provide comprehensive, immersive wellness experiences for visitors. The 4-hectare waterfront site will feature the wellness attraction as a central element, complementing nearby attractions like Gardens by the Bay, Founders’ Memorial, and Marina Barrage.
STB is looking for innovative, high-quality concepts that promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being. These could include therapeutic art, tech-driven experiences like flotation or light and frequency therapies, alternative health treatments, and fitness or recovery activities, including water-based and equipment-based options. The attraction must also offer a robust calendar of wellness-themed events or programs, both on-site and in surrounding public spaces, engaging both tourists and residents, enhancing the overall appeal of the area.
Ms Carrie Kwik, Executive Director, World Expo and Special Projects, Singapore Tourism Board, stated, “With the rising demand for more restorative and wellness-related experiences, we believe Singapore is well-positioned to be a leading Urban Wellness destination that prioritises holistic well-being. This tender represents a significant step toward realising our wellness ambitions as we leverage Singapore’s strengths in accessibility, technology, and as a strong business hub. This wellness attraction will contribute to Singapore’s tourism sector by providing travellers with more compelling reasons to extend their stay and spend more in Singapore. Locals will also benefit from the wide range of wellness offerings available.”
The tender is open to both local and international bidders and will be active for three months, closing on October 4, 2024, for proposal submissions.
