The box office roar of ‘Singham Again’ continues to reverberate! Rohit Shetty’s latest addition to the cop universe movie franchise, starring the dynamic duo of Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan, has taken the nation by storm. The action-packed film, featuring cameos by Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and Tiger Shroff, has already garnered a staggering ₹120 crore in its opening weekend, smashing box office records.
This impressive feat makes ‘Singham Again’ the biggest opener for both director Rohit Shetty and actor Ajay Devgn, eclipsing even the opening weekend collections of ‘Golmaal Again’ and ‘Chennai Express’. The film’s success has been fueled by its high-octane action sequences, gripping storyline, and the star power of its cast.
However, while the first two days of release saw ‘Singham Again’ shatter box office records, Sunday witnessed a slight dip in earnings, raising questions about the film’s long-term performance. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports an estimated ₹35 crore on Day 3, a drop of around 20% compared to the previous days. The decline can be attributed to a slight decrease in theatre occupancy, with only 52.55% of seats booked on Sunday. Mumbai, NCR, Pune, and Bengaluru witnessed the highest theatre occupancy on Sunday.
Despite the dip, ‘Singham Again’ remains a major box office force, particularly considering it was released amidst a clash with another successful film, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.’ The film’s impressive opening weekend performance coupled with the power of the ‘Singham’ franchise suggests it will continue to perform well in the coming days.
The latest installment in the ‘Singham’ franchise, ‘Singham Again’, takes viewers on a thrilling ride, showcasing the valiant cop Bajirao Singham’s unwavering fight against crime. The film, inspired by the epic Ramayana, pits Singham against the ruthless terrorist Danger Lanka (portrayed by Arjun Kapoor) in a battle to save his wife, Avni. The film also features an intriguing ensemble cast, including Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi, Ranveer Singh’s Simmba, and Tiger Shroff’s Satya, each representing heroic traits inspired by Indian mythology. This fifth installment in Shetty’s Cop Universe, true to form, delivers the adrenaline-pumping action, car chases, and gripping stunts that have become synonymous with his films.
