Singham Again vs Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: Box Office Clash of Bollywood Titans

This Diwali, Bollywood witnessed a thrilling box office clash between two of its most-awaited films: ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. These sequels, both carrying the weight of successful franchises, brought their unique flavors of action and humor to the festive season.

‘Singham Again’, the third installment of the popular ‘Singham’ franchise, is a high-octane action film featuring Ajay Devgn reprising his role as the fearless police officer Bajirao Singham. This time, the film promises to deliver an even bigger, bolder, and more thrilling experience, with a cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, and Ranveer Singh.

On the other side, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ continues the legacy of the 2007 horror-comedy classic. Led by Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, and Triptii Dimri, the film takes the audience on a spine-chilling yet humorous journey set in the intriguing backdrop of Kolkata, West Bengal. The return of Vidya Balan as Avni/Manjulika, the iconic character from the original, adds an extra layer of intrigue to the narrative.

As the dust settled, both films made their mark on the box office. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, with its blend of humor and suspense, earned an impressive ₹ 35.5 crore on its opening day, making it Kartik Aaryan’s biggest opening so far. On the other hand, ‘Singham Again’, fueled by Ajay Devgn’s action star power and the massive star cast, raked in a phenomenal ₹ 43.50 core, making it the clear box office winner.

Exhibitors and trade experts are optimistic that these star-studded releases will help revive the box office during this festive season. With ‘Singham Again’ securing 60 percent of the screens and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ holding 40 percent, the competition was intense.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, in conversation with ANI, expressed his enthusiasm for both films, stating, “Both films are great. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ is a horror-comedy, while ‘Singham Again’ is a cop drama. Both projects offer different varieties of entertainment to the audience. I am happy that both are doing great business so far. The audience is loving both films… what else do we want? If both films continue to do good business, then I would be extremely happy to see makers of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ and ‘Singham Again’ throw a combined success party.”

It’s clear that both ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ have struck a chord with the audience, delivering entertainment with their own distinct styles. With the festive season in full swing, it’s exciting to see how these two blockbusters will continue to perform at the box office.
