In a shocking incident that unfolded in the national capital, two sisters, identified as 21-year-old Chhavi Jain and 23-year-old Bhavya Jain, unleashed a violent attack on a former Uttar Pradesh deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Ashok Sharma, and his family. The incident, which took place in the Vasundhara Enclave area of east Delhi, was sparked by a seemingly minor dispute over honking.
The sisters’ aggressive behavior escalated rapidly. After Sharma requested them to stop honking, they vandalized the flower pots outside his apartment in the Anekant Apartments society. They then entered Sharma’s home, armed with a knife, and confronted him and his family, causing a disturbance that drew neighbors to the scene. Some residents who attempted to intervene also sustained minor injuries.
The situation further intensified when police arrived to control the aggressive sisters. The sisters locked themselves inside their apartment initially, but later made a dramatic escape attempt. They fled in their car, striking a scooter rider and dragging him for a short distance before ramming their car into a police van, injuring one of the officers. In their desperate attempt to evade capture, they also rammed into the society’s gate barrier.
The incident, caught on CCTV cameras, highlights the sisters’ brazen and dangerous actions. Their confrontational behavior, which has a history of prior incidents, led to the filing of four FIRs at the New Ashok Nagar police station. The sisters were eventually apprehended in Noida.
Sharma, a cancer patient, escaped the attack with minor injuries. The incident raises serious concerns about the escalation of violence in the city and the need for effective measures to address such aggressive behavior.
