UNDISPUTED co-host Skip Bayless has expressed his disappointment with LeBron James’ performance in the Lakers’ opening playoff loss against the Denver Nuggets.
During Saturday’s game, the Nuggets emerged victorious with a score of 114-103, and Bayless was particularly critical of James’ effort. He noted that while the game was close, some key Lakers players, including James, failed to give their best.
“This game was not without some hope for the Lakers going into game two,” said Bayless. “But LeBron came back in the game with nine minutes left and it felt pretty hopeless at that point.”
Bayless went on to describe James as “lifeless” in the fourth quarter, questioning his motivation. Fellow host Keyshawn Johnson agreed, saying that James appeared to be making little effort to shoot or contribute to the team’s comeback attempt.
Despite finishing the game with 27 points, six rebounds, and eight assists, James’ performance was met with criticism. NBA fans took to social media to speculate on the reasons behind his sluggishness, with some suggesting that the high altitude in Denver may have played a role.
“Bron is 8-14 AT Denver in his career,” commented one fan. “How many teams does LeBron James have a sub 40% winning percentage against, even on the road? Probably not many. Maybe he just hates the altitude.”
Another fan questioned the team’s dynamic, saying, “When the Lakers win Lebron gets the credit when they lose the other players get the blame.”
A third fan pointed out James’ poor shooting performance in the fourth quarter, saying, “Lebron in the 4th quarter Saturday: 1-2 FG 4 points. Play-in game 4th quarter: 1-7 FG 4 points. Is this your supposed G.O.A.T?”
