Slowing Down to Smell the Roses in Dragon’s Dogma 2

For the past year, I’ve been on a mission to catch up on my backlog of games. I’ve been playing through new releases and old favorites, trying to make a dent in the ever-growing pile. But in my haste to finish as many games as possible, I’ve been missing out on what makes gaming so special.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was a wake-up call for me. It reminded me that games aren’t just about completing quests and checking off boxes. They’re about exploring new worlds, meeting interesting characters, and having fun. I spent the first 10 hours of Dragon’s Dogma 2 rushing through the main story, ignoring everything that wasn’t absolutely necessary. I was so focused on finishing the game as quickly as possible that I wasn’t actually enjoying it.

But then I had a rainy Saturday to myself, and I decided to slow down and explore the world. I wandered off the beaten path, talked to every NPC I saw, and took on every side quest that was offered to me. And that’s when the game really opened up for me.

I discovered hidden treasures, fought challenging battles, and met memorable characters. I experimented with different vocations and skills, and I learned how to fight as a team with my pawns. I finally started having fun. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a game that rewards exploration and experimentation. The more time you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it. So if you’re looking for a game to sink your teeth into, I highly recommend Dragon’s Dogma 2. Just be prepared to take your time and enjoy the journey.
