Smriti Irani Mocks Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra, Claims More Work Done in 5 Years than Gandhi in 15

In a swipe at Rahul Gandhi and Robert Vadra, BJP MP Smriti Irani asserted that she has accomplished more work in Amethi during her five-year tenure than Gandhi did in his 15-year representation.

“Jijaji ki nazar hai, saale sahab kya karenge,” Irani remarked at a gathering in Amethi, alluding to Vadra’s rumored interest in contesting the seat. “Rahul Gandhi will also come to mark his seat with a handkerchief because his brother-in-law is eyeing this seat,” she added.

Irani’s comments come ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, in which Amethi will vote on May 20. She highlighted the lack of candidate announcement from the Congress party, suggesting arrogance.

“Just 27 days left for election, but Congress has not announced its candidate,” Irani said. “What I could do in five years, Rahul Gandhi could not do in 15.”

Gandhi has represented Amethi in the Lok Sabha for three consecutive terms before Irani’s victory in 2019. The seat has been held by his family members, including his parents Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi, and uncle Sanjay Gandhi.

While Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad in Kerala, there is speculation that he may also file his nomination for Amethi after the polling in Wayanad on April 26.

Irani’s campaign is in full swing, with allegations that Gandhi will attempt to divide people on caste lines after the Wayanad polling. She has also criticized Gandhi’s lack of attention to Amethi’s issues during his time as MP.
