Snake Found on Garib Rath Express Train, Passengers Evacuated

A shocking incident unfolded on a Garib Rath Express train traveling from Jabalpur to Mumbai when a snake was spotted on one of the upper berths. A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows the snake coiled around the bar holding the upper berth and attempting to reach the AC vent. The snake was reportedly located on berth number 23 in coach number 617.

The unexpected encounter sparked panic among passengers, prompting their relocation to another coach. The railway staff was immediately alerted to the situation. The incident occurred while the train was nearing Kasara Railway Station, according to a report by Republic World. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the snake was safely removed.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user who highlighted the humorous reactions from passengers in the background. The post read, “Snake On A Train! “Gareeb rath mein ameer kahan se aa gaya ye?” (How has this rich one come to Gareeb Rath?). The sense of humour of Indians is legendary,” the post said. “Jokes apart, a snake found in Jabalpur-Mumbai Garib Rath Express,” it added.

While the authenticity of the video couldn’t be independently verified, West Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Harshit Shrivastava confirmed that authorities were coordinating with Central Railways to investigate the incident. The CPRO stated that officials were gathering information from those responsible for the Kasara route.

This incident comes just days after a seven-foot-long python was spotted at a village in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The District Forest Officer, Pramod Kumar, confirmed the sighting and confirmed that the officials had captured and released the python into its natural habitat.

The presence of snakes on trains and in urban areas highlights the importance of understanding and respecting wildlife, even in unexpected places. It also underscores the potential for such encounters and the need for swift action to ensure passenger safety.
