A chilling scene unfolded at Rishikesh’s Yognagari railway station recently, as a six-foot-long snake made an unexpected appearance on the platform, sending passengers scrambling for safety. The viral video of the incident showcases the raw fear that gripped travelers as they witnessed the reptile slithering across the crowded platform.
The snake’s sudden emergence from the tracks sparked panic, with passengers abandoning their luggage and rushing away from the creature. Some brave individuals attempted to warn others of the danger, but the entire platform was thrown into a state of disarray within minutes.
Authorities responded swiftly, with the Rishikesh railway authorities contacting the forest department. Upon arrival, forest officers successfully located and captured the snake, before safely releasing it back into its natural habitat.
This incident is not an isolated occurrence. Just a few months prior, a massive 12-foot-long King Cobra was rescued from a house compound in Karnataka and returned to the forest by wildlife officials. The Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS) team, alerted by the state forest department, swiftly responded and captured the snake before releasing it back into the wild. The rescue operation was filmed and shared on Instagram, garnering widespread attention and highlighting the importance of coexisting with wildlife, even in densely populated areas.
