Solos, the makers of the AirGo smart glasses, are following in the footsteps of Ray-Ban Meta with their new AirGo Vision model. This latest iteration features a front camera, positioned just like the popular Ray-Ban models, providing on-the-go access to AI-powered visual search and interactive features.
The AirGo Vision leverages the power of ChatGPT-4, making it the first pair of smart glasses to do so. This means users can get extensive visual search information, along with interesting additional features like summarization for shopping, navigation, cooking, and other activities. The open architecture allows for compatibility with other AI models, such as Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude.
Solos highlights the camera’s ability to capture photos using voice commands, although video recording isn’t currently supported. The camera design, integrated into the arm rather than the frame, showcases the AirGo’s modularity. Users can easily swap out the front panel for a different design, while the technology remains within the arms.
Adding to the Ray-Ban Meta similarities, the AirGo Vision features an LED notification light within the frame, signaling incoming messages or flashing to indicate a photo capture. The AirGo Vision will be released later this year, but the price remains undisclosed.
In addition to the Vision, Solos will launch three new AirGo smart glasses styles without cameras, all incorporating the LED notification light and the modular frame design. These styles, available in July, will be priced at $250 and offered as complete glasses or as frames and arms separately.
This announcement comes soon after Solos revealed its Live Search software feature for all AirGo models, available through a software update. The AirGo Vision and the new LED frame feature further demonstrate Solos’ commitment to innovation and their ambition to compete in the growing smart glasses market.
