Son Heung-min Shines as Tottenham Wins Preseason Match in Seoul

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a successful outing in Seoul, defeating a K-League All Stars team 4-3 in a thrilling preseason match on Wednesday. The star of the show was undoubtedly Son Heung-min, the captain of both Tottenham and the South Korean national team. He showcased his exceptional skills with a brace of goals, captivating the home crowd.

The match began with Spurs taking the lead in the 29th minute through Dejan Kulusevski. Son then took center stage, curling a shot into the top right corner from the edge of the box in the 38th minute. He wasn’t done yet, teaming up with Kulusevski in stoppage time before halftime to calmly slot the ball into the bottom corner, extending Spurs’ lead to 3-0.

The K-League side, fielding an entirely new lineup after the break, showed their resilience. Stanislav Iljutcenko pulled one goal back in the 52nd minute, taking advantage of a fumble by Spurs goalkeeper Brandon Austin. He added another goal just two minutes later with a diving header, bringing the K-League team back into the game.

Spurs responded with a crucial goal from Will Lankshear in the 66th minute, restoring their two-goal advantage. However, the K-League side refused to give up, Oberdan scoring a spectacular volley in the 81st minute to make the score 4-3. Despite a late scare when James Maddison hit the post in stoppage time, Spurs held on for the win.

Young South Korean prospect Yang Min-hyeok, signed by Spurs on Sunday, started for the K-League side but didn’t make a significant impact. He will join Spurs in January after his current season with Gangwon FC in the K-League. Spurs face Bayern Munich in their next preseason match in Seoul on Saturday.
