Sonos has recently introduced a fully redesigned mobile app, available for both Android and iOS on May 7th. This latest iteration of the app has been rebuilt from the ground up to provide a more reliable, faster, and user-friendly experience. Sonos users will appreciate the streamlined tabbed navigation bar, which places everything they need right on the homescreen. Customization options allow users to tailor the layout to their preferences, including pinning favorite playlists and music sources. A persistent search bar at the bottom ensures quick access to desired content.
Accessing Sonos speakers is now as easy as swiping up from the mini player. The system overview screen allows for quick adjustments to volume, grouping of products, and more. The search functionality remains largely similar, but users can now set a preferred music service to prioritize its results. However, spatial audio track labeling for Apple Music is still missing in the search results.
The introduction of a new web app will enable Sonos users to remotely control their speakers from any device with internet access. This convenience was previously limited to third-party applications. The redesigned mobile app and the web app are part of Sonos’s commitment to improving the home music listening experience and expanding into new categories and experiences.
