The first weekend of summer in Southern California is bringing scorching temperatures, with heat advisories and warnings in place for various regions. Desert communities are particularly vulnerable, with temperatures expected to exceed 100 degrees for the next several days. Palm Springs and Victorville could even reach a sizzling 110 degrees.

Los Angeles and Orange counties will experience a high of 88 degrees on Sunday, with a slight chance of showers as some moisture moves into the region. The valleys and Inland Empire will heat up to 97 degrees on Sunday with a 20% chance of showers. Overnight temperatures will drop to a more comfortable 70 degrees.

Beachgoers can expect cooler temperatures and some morning clouds, with a high of 76 degrees on Sunday afternoon. Mountain communities will enjoy sunshine and warm temperatures around 83 degrees, but there is a 30% chance of showers.

The desert will remain sunny and hot, reaching 106 degrees on Sunday, with Palm Springs potentially hitting 111 degrees.
