In a closely contested decision, the Southwick Select Board has chosen Christina Myette as the town’s new clerk. The appointment was made after a comprehensive interview process involving two highly qualified candidates, Myette and Holly Hebda.
Board member Jason Perron acknowledged the exceptional qualifications of both candidates, expressing his difficulty in making a decision. Ultimately, Perron, along with board Chair Doug Moglin, voted in favor of Myette’s appointment. Board member Diane Gale, however, supported Hebda for the position.
Myette’s appointment was praised by Moglin, who highlighted her extensive experience and enthusiasm for the role. He expressed confidence in Myette’s ability to excel in the position and serve the town effectively.
The decision to appoint Myette as town clerk marks a significant milestone for Southwick. Her appointment follows a series of recent leadership changes, including the selection of a new police chief and chief administrative officer. The town is optimistic that Myette’s leadership will contribute to the continued progress and prosperity of Southwick.
