Splatoon and Wii Sports Club Holdouts Remain Online Despite Server Closure

Fifteen days after Nintendo’s servers for the Wii U and 3DS were scheduled to shut down, a handful of players are still holding on in a few games for those systems. One player, known as Lcd101, is the last remaining player in Splatoon. Despite the fact that matchmaking has officially gone down, Lcd101 remains online, determined to stay online for as long as possible.

Another player has been discovered hanging on in online lobbies for Wii Sports Club. This player joins the other proud few remaining players in Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart 7, Splatoon, Maker, and Pokemon XY.

It’s unclear how long these players will be able to remain online, but their dedication is a testament to the enduring popularity of these games. Even though the official servers are gone, these players are finding ways to keep the games alive.
