Clay Partain, the Executive Director of Sports Salt Lake, has been appointed as Secretary/Treasurer for the Board of Directors by the Sports ETA membership during the annual Sports ETA Symposium. Sports ETA, the leading trade association for the sports events and tourism industry in the United States, made the selection.
Partain brings extensive experience to this role, having served Visit Salt Lake in various leadership capacities for nearly a decade. Prior to this, he gained valuable insights from his tenure in the hotel and hospitality sector with Marriott. A graduate of the University of Iowa, Partain is also accredited with the Sports Tourism Strategist designation from Sports ETA.

Sports Salt Lake, a sector within Visit Salt Lake (VSL), is overseen by Clay Partain, who holds the position of Executive Director. Specializing in the attraction and organization of youth and amateur sports events, this division plays a crucial role in promoting sports tourism. Additionally, Partain has recently been appointed as the Chief Sports Officer of VSL, further solidifying his leadership within the organization.
