Spotify is bringing its innovative AI Playlist feature to a wider audience. Premium subscribers in the US, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand now have access to this text-based playlist creation tool.
Initially launched in the UK and Australia, the beta feature is gaining traction as Spotify refines its AI-powered service. Users can now easily create custom playlists by simply describing the kind of music they want to hear within the Spotify mobile app.
To access the AI Playlist, tap the “+” button at the top right of your library and select “AI Playlist” from the drop-down menu. From there, you can describe your desired playlist, such as “spooky songs for Halloween” or “upbeat music for a workout.”
Spotify’s AI is constantly learning and evolving with each user interaction. When you submit a text description, the AI generates a playlist of 30 songs, which you can further refine based on your feedback. The tool can recognize descriptions of genres, moods, decades, or specific artists.
For now, the AI Playlist beta is only available on Spotify’s mobile app. Desktop and web app users will have to wait for future updates.
This expansion of the AI Playlist feature showcases Spotify’s commitment to leveraging AI to enhance the user experience and personalize music discovery.
