SriLankan Airlines Celebrates 45 Years of Connecting the World

SriLankan Airlines is celebrating a significant milestone – its 45th anniversary. On September 1st, 2023, the airline commemorates its inaugural flight in 1979, which took off with a humble fleet of two Boeing 707s. Over the past four and a half decades, SriLankan Airlines has emerged as a pioneering force in the region, consistently navigating through challenging times with resilience and unwavering commitment to the spirit of Sri Lankan hospitality.

Throughout its history, SriLankan Airlines has adapted to the dynamic landscape of the aviation industry. Operating with a uniform fleet, SriLankan utilizes a range of Airbus aircraft, including the wide-bodied A330s, the mid-range A320s, and the A321s, ensuring a consistent travel experience across various ranges and destinations.
