On September 1st, 2023, the airline commemorates its inaugural flight in 1979, which took off with a humble fleet of two Boeing 707s. Over the past four and a half decades, SriLankan Airlines has emerged as a pioneering force in the region, consistently navigating through challenging times with resilience and unwavering commitment to the spirit of Sri Lankan hospitality.
