SriLankan Airlines Expands Presence in Southern Kerala with New Office and GSA Partnership

SriLankan Airlines, Sri Lanka’s national carrier, has inaugurated its new office in Trivandrum, signaling a fresh collaboration with Translanka Air Travels Pvt. Ltd. as the appointed General Sales Agent (GSA) for South Kerala. This strategic move underscores the airline’s dedication to enhancing its footprint in Southern Kerala and improving services for passengers in areas including Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Varkala, Kovalam, Marthandam, Nagercoil, and Tirunelveli. Since launching its first flight to Trivandrum in April 1980, SriLankan Airlines has built a strong network in India, maintaining regular connections between Trivandrum and Colombo, and further connecting passengers to global destinations such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, and several Middle Eastern and Asian countries. The airline currently offers four weekly flights from Trivandrum to Colombo on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

“44 years ago, SriLankan Airlines was one of the first international airlines to launch flights to Trivandrum, and we have not looked back since. It has been our absolute privilege to serve the people of Southern Kerala and Trivandrum and connect them with the world through our comprehensive flight service that comes with a touch of true Sri Lankan hospitality. I am confident that this new partnership will enable us to take our service to even greater heights in the future,” commented Head of Worldwide Sales and Distribution of SriLankan Airlines, Dimuthu Tennakoon.

Sri Lanka, the nearest international destination to South Kerala and Trivandrum, continues to be a favorite vacation choice for Keralites, evidenced by the increasing number of Indian tourists. The cultural affinities and unique offerings in terms of sights, cuisine, and experiences make Sri Lanka particularly appealing. The opening of this new office was attended by key figures including Fawzan Fareid, Head of Worldwide Sales and Distribution; Sandun Jayasinghe, Area Manager Trivandrum; and B. Ramesh Kumar, Managing Director of Translanka Air Travels, who collectively reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to delivering exceptional service to its customers in the region.
