The recent inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has led to a significant influx of tourists and pilgrims, causing local accommodations such as hotels, homestays, and vacation rentals to enhance their booking processes to manage the increased demand effectively. In response, STAAH, a prominent New Zealand-based provider of hospitality solutions, has entered the Ayodhya market through its collaboration with the Clarks Inn Express hotel.
Clarks Inn has implemented STAAH’s Max Channel Manager solution to streamline management of their inventory across various booking platforms, facilitating more efficient operational procedures that boost revenue and profitability. Rahul Deb Banerjee, Vice President at The Clarks Hotels & Resorts, expressed his satisfaction with STAAH’s technology, stating, “We have seen a huge increase in the demand for accommodation in Ayodhya, high enough to have an 80-85% occupancy basis the BOB (Business-on-Books) till September this year. Our hotel is garnering an Average Daily Rate of INR 12,000, up from an Average Room Rate of INR 9000-9500. So, we are delighted that we have the support of STAAH’s very easy, convenient-to-use and highly effective technology to handhold us through this transition phase and the continuing demand of the destination in the coming phase.”
Since its opening in January 2024, the Ram Temple has attracted daily crowds of 100,000 to 150,000 pilgrims, as reported by the Shri Ram Janmaboomi Teerth Kshetra. Shoaib Ali, National Sales Head, India – STAAH, commented on the significance of Ayodhya in the hospitality sector, saying, “Ayodhya is a very interesting market from a hospitality perspective. It is, of course, attracting hordes of pilgrims, but it will also soon pick up as a wedding destination. The demands of hotels here are slightly different from other travel destinations and we are happy that our solutions have addressed all the concerns that Clarks shared with us. We are also in talks with other properties in the city that are facing similar challenges.”
STAAH’s technology suite, including its Channel Management tools, is designed to assist hotels in efficiently listing and managing their inventory across multiple booking channels. This partnership between STAAH and Clarks Inn Express underscores the growing need for effective hospitality solutions in Ayodhya as it continues to attract a large number of visitors.
