Stages Cycling Lays Off Workforce, Ceases Operations

Stages Cycling, a renowned cycling brand known for its power meters and indoor cycling equipment, has reportedly laid off its entire workforce and ceased operations. Multiple sources close to the brand have indicated that Stages has stopped placing orders with suppliers and shipping products to customers, leaving its website with most products listed as out of stock.

Stages Cycling was established in 2009 and has gained recognition for its affordable and innovative crank-based power meters. The brand’s products have made power-based training more accessible. In recent years, Stages expanded its offerings to include dual-sided power meters, indoor smart bikes, and GPS bike computers.

A significant portion of Stages Cycling’s business involves producing commercial indoor bikes for gyms and fitness centers. The brand’s bikes are used by notable clients such as The Gym Group, David Lloyd, and SoulCycle. Despite its strong brand presence and partnerships with high-profile cycling teams, Stages Cycling has reportedly ceased operations.

Cyclingnews has attempted to contact Stages and its UK distributor, Saddleback, for comment. Saddleback has declined to comment on the cessation of operations but confirmed that it still holds stock and will honor warranty claims. The future of Stages Cycling remains uncertain, but the layoffs and operational halt suggest significant changes may be underway.
