Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech, calling it “toxic, vile, and highly deplorable.”
In a lengthy message, Stalin accused Modi of attempting to exploit religious sentiments and resorting to hate speech to avoid what seemed to be an imminent defeat. He further alleged that the Election Commission had turned a deaf ear to Modi’s blatant hate speech.
Stalin also criticized Modi for twisting the issue of the socio-economic caste census, which was promised by the INDIA bloc. He emphasized that it was a long overdue remedy to create an egalitarian society and expressed dismay that the Prime Minister was depriving socially disadvantaged communities of their due share in education, jobs, and seats of power.
The State Secretary of the CPI(M), K. Balakrishnan, also condemned Modi’s speech, calling it arrogant and a means to spread hatred against Muslims.
