The Keepers Foundation, founded by Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and his family, is set to launch this summer, expanding their commitment to giving back to the community. Inspired by the biblical verse about being one’s brother’s keeper, the Stefanskis established the foundation to support underprivileged children in their local communities. “Everybody knows that Bible verse about being your brother’s keeper and, really, what does that mean? It means looking out for somebody else,” Stefanski said. “And that’s ultimately what we’re trying to do with this foundation is look out for the people that need us to look out for them the most. And that’s the kids in our communities that are underprivileged, and that’s ultimately what we’re trying to do.” The foundation will kick off its activities with two major events in June. On June 6, a flag football tournament will be held at Cleveland Browns Stadium, giving young boys and girls the chance to play under the stadium lights, just like their football heroes. “Being under the lights is something special,” Stefanski said. “I would tell you, our players love to be under the lights. So, I can only imagine that the young boys and girls that are able to be a part of this will love being under the lights down there at the stadium, playing on the same field that they see Myles Garrett and Deshaun Watson and Nick Chubb playing on. So, flag football, I think is such an important part of our game. And again, just to see it played and see young kids compete really is a big part of the goal of our foundation is giving kids an avenue to experience things like that under the lights.” The second event, an auction fundraiser, will take place on June 13, with proceeds going towards the foundation’s mission. Tickets for both events are available at www.thekeepersfoundation.org. The Keepers Foundation is a testament to the Stefanski family’s commitment to making a positive impact in their community. Through their work with the foundation, they aim to provide underprivileged children with opportunities for growth and development, while also encouraging others to join them in giving back.
