Shift Up’s action-adventure title, Stellar Blade, has achieved impressive sales figures, surpassing 1 million copies sold on the PlayStation 5. The game’s success is evident in Shift Up’s Q2 2024 earnings report, which reveals Stellar Blade generated roughly $19.5 million in revenue.
This strong performance contributed to Shift Up’s overall Q2 2024 earnings. The company reported 65.2 million Korean won (KRW), equivalent to approximately $48 million, in revenue for the quarter. An impressive operating profit margin of nearly 69% was also achieved, with 45.1 million KRW ($33.1 million) earned during the period.
While Stellar Blade’s sales figures have been revealed, the exact royalty structure between Shift Up and Sony remains undisclosed. It’s plausible that future royalty payments will be dispersed across multiple quarters.
Shift Up’s other game, the mobile/PC third-person shooter Goddess of Victory: Nikke, contributed nearly 60% of the company’s Q2 2024 revenue.
Shift Up has announced plans to expand Stellar Blade’s reach by bringing the game to PC platforms. The company expects higher sales on platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store, stating in its Q2 report: “To continue the excitement of the Stellar Blade IP, we are preparing for its release on PC in the near future, and we expect better results on PC than on consoles.”
