In a historic first for K-pop, all eight members of Stray Kids graced the Met Gala red carpet in custom Tommy Hilfiger looks, making them the first group to attend the prestigious event together in matching designer attire.
The ensembles, designed by Hilfiger himself, paid homage to the evening’s theme, “Garden of Time,” while incorporating his signature preppy American style. The group’s leader, Bang Chan, looked dapper in a navy three-piece wool suit with red piping and a gold floral pin, while Felix showcased his ethereal style in a white silk suit adorned with intricate floral embroidery.
Hyunjin and Lee Know added a touch of boldness in red double-breasted suits, while rappers Changbin and Han opted for matching button-ups featuring Tommy Hilfiger’s classic Ithaca stripe and gold floral buttons. Rounding out the octet, I.N and Seungmin paired their cotton shirts with sophisticated satin suits.
The group expressed their excitement and some nerves about their Met Gala debut, acknowledging the support of their fans, known as Stays, who have been instrumental in their success. Seungmin, a longtime admirer of Tommy Hilfiger, described the experience as surreal, saying, “It’s unreal to me that I grew up to become the model for the brand and even attend the Met Gala as its ambassador. It is such a great honor.”
Hilfiger, too, expressed his admiration for the group, saying, “One of the special things about Stray Kids is each member has a completely individual style, and they all complement each other perfectly. This enabled us to design a sartorially cohesive yet distinctively personalized ensemble for them.” The group’s appearance at the Met Gala marks a significant milestone in their career, showcasing their global influence and fashion prowess. With their unique blend of energy, style, and talent, Stray Kids continue to captivate audiences worldwide, leaving an unforgettable mark on the fashion industry.
