In the wake of last year’s violence, strict security measures are in place in Nuh, Haryana, for the Brajmandal Jalabhishek Yatra. The Haryana government, on Sunday, suspended mobile internet and bulk SMS services in the district for 24 hours as a precautionary measure. The yatra, a significant religious event marking the first day of the sacred month of Sawan, sees devotees embark on a pilgrimage.
Nuh Superintendent of Police, Vijay Pratap, assured the public of comprehensive security arrangements, stating, “Police teams are ready, and proper security arrangements have been made. The video surveillance has been enhanced through drones. Dog Squad and Mounted Armed Police have also been deployed.”
The traffic advisory issued emphasizes the prohibition of heavy vehicles from entering Nuh during the yatra. Drivers of heavy vehicles approaching Nuh from different locations are advised to hold their entry until the conclusion of the yatra. The advisory further states that temples under Nuh Police watch include Nalhareshwar temple, Aravalli mountains, Badkali Chowk, Jhirkeshwar temple, Shringeshwar temple (Singar), and the concluding points of the yatra.
Last year, on July 31, violent clashes erupted in Nuh, resulting in the tragic death of six people, including a cleric of a Gurugram mosque and two home guards. The incident was triggered by a mob attack on a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession.
This year, the yatra will commence from Nuh’s Nalhar temple and proceed to Singar via the Jhir temple route. Nuh Deputy Commissioner, Dhirendra Khadgata, expressed confidence in the peaceful conduct of the yatra, stating, “Volunteers have been deployed to ensure devotees don’t face any problem. Proper security arrangements have been made, and surveillance has been increased. The situation is very peaceful. People from all religions are welcoming the yatra.”
The authorities are taking all necessary steps to ensure a safe and peaceful pilgrimage for all devotees participating in the Brajmandal Jalabhishek Yatra. The presence of security forces and increased surveillance aim to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain order in the district. The yatra’s significance and the proactive measures taken by the authorities highlight the importance of religious harmony and peaceful coexistence.
