Sungrow Powers One of Americas’ Largest Solar Projects in Brazil with Cutting-Edge Inverter Solutions

## Sungrow Powers One of Americas’ Largest Solar Projects in Brazil with Cutting-Edge Inverter Solutions

Sungrow, a global leader in renewable energy technology, continues to make strides in the Brazilian market, demonstrating its commitment to clean energy solutions. The company has recently supplied its cutting-edge 1+X Modular Inverter solutions to Vista Alegre, a massive 902 MWp solar plant in Brazil. This project is a testament to Sungrow’s dedication to powering a sustainable future.

Located in Minas Gerais, Brazil, Vista Alegre will be one of the Americas’ largest PV projects. The 902 MWp (778 MWac) solar plant will operate under a 21-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and is scheduled to be connected to the grid in 2025. Once operational, it will generate an impressive 2 TWh of electricity annually, equivalent to supplying clean energy to approximately 1 million Brazilian families. This remarkable achievement will also lead to a reduction of approximately 154,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year, contributing significantly to Brazil’s clean energy transition.

Sungrow’s 1+X Modular Inverter system is a marvel of innovation, combining the best features of central and string inverters. The system boasts a minimum capacity of 1.1 MW per single unit, with the ability to expand to a maximum capacity of 8.8 MW by connecting eight units together. This flexible design allows for easy adaptation to different block sizes and simplifies on-site operations and maintenance. Each module features an independent MPPT, further enhancing the power generation capacity of the plant.

Sungrow is providing a comprehensive solution for the Vista Alegre project, encompassing inverters, power transformers, medium voltage switchgears, and auxiliary systems, all conveniently housed in a 40-ft container. This project will utilize 75 units of 8.8 MW inverters and 18 units of 6.6 MW inverters, along with comprehensive services including cold and hot commissioning and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) training.

Ada Li, Vice President of Sungrow Americas, remarked, “This is one of the Americas’ largest solar projects located in Brazil, a country with vast potential for further solar power generation. It offers energy security and independence while reducing carbon emissions, a critical step towards a clean energy transition. Sungrow is dedicated to providing clean power for all, and we are excited to be a part of this project’s progress.”
