In a shocking twist of events, a surveillance video dating back to 2016 has emerged, casting an undeniable light on the physical assault perpetrated by renowned rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs against his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. The disturbing footage, obtained by CNN, corroborates the allegations made by Ventura in a lawsuit filed against Combs in November 2023.
Captured through multiple angles, the video depicts a distressing series of events that unfolded within the corridors of a hotel. Combs is seen racing down the hallway, clad only in a towel, his demeanor exhibiting a state of agitation. His target is Ventura, who is exiting a hotel room and approaching the elevator. Without warning, Combs grabs Ventura from behind, sending her crashing to the floor.
While Ventura lies motionless, Combs hastily gathers a purse and suitcase left near the elevator. As he does so, he delivers two swift kicks to Ventura. After retrieving her belongings, he then proceeds to drag her by her sweatshirt through the hallway, presumably back to the room from which he emerged.
The authenticity of the video has been verified by CNN, who confirmed that the location of the incident was the now-shuttered InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, as highlighted in Ventura’s lawsuit.
Ventura’s lawsuit paints a vivid account of the altercation, alleging that Combs was “extremely intoxicated” at the time and “punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye” around March 2016. Furthermore, once Combs fell asleep, Ventura attempted to leave the hotel room, but was met with an enraged Combs, who pursued her into the hallway while verbally berating her.
The lawsuit further asserts that Combs “grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape.” The surveillance footage now irrefutably confirms these harrowing claims.
In response to the video’s release, Ventura’s attorney, Douglas H. Wingdor, expressed his profound admiration for his client’s courage and strength. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light,” Wingdor stated.
