Susanna Reid Apologizes After Yvette Cooper Swears on ‘Good Morning Britain’

During an appearance on ‘Good Morning Britain,’ Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper criticized Rishi Sunak’s Rwanda policy. In the midst of her discussion, Cooper uttered a swear word, prompting a swift apology from host Susanna Reid.

Cooper acknowledged her lapse in judgment and covered her mouth. She then continued her critique of the policy, emphasizing the high costs and limited effectiveness of sending asylum seekers to Rwanda.

In a series of tweets prior to the interview, Cooper denounced the policy and outlined Labour’s alternative plans. These plans include increasing border security, establishing a fast-track system to clear asylum backlogs, and creating a Returns & Enforcement Unit to facilitate the removal of illegal immigrants.

Despite Sunak’s initial promise of spring flights to Rwanda, he recently admitted that the first flights will not take off for another 10 to 12 weeks. This delay highlights the challenges faced by the government in implementing the policy.
