Strathcona County RCMP is actively investigating a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred on Wednesday morning, May 8th, 2024, on the southbound lanes of Anthony Henday Drive in proximity to Wye Road. The incident was reported at approximately 6:15 a.m., with responding officers encountering a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Regrettably, the vehicle was completely destroyed in the fire.
Fortunately, no individuals sustained injuries during the incident, and Strathcona County Fire Services effectively extinguished the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and RCMP is appealing to the public for assistance.
Investigators are particularly interested in obtaining any available dashcam footage from the area between 5:50 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. on the morning of the fire. This footage could provide valuable insights into the incident.
