On Friday evening, at approximately 9:30 PM, officers from the Franklin Township Police Department responded to a report of vehicle burglaries in the Weybridge Chase neighborhood on Ashley Drive. Information received indicated that two male suspects had fled the scene on foot. Officers from Franklin Township, Clayton Township, and Monroe Township swiftly established a perimeter and deployed K9 Teli to track the suspects’ whereabouts.
The determined K9 unit pursued the suspects for approximately one mile, ultimately causing them to run directly towards a Monroe Township Police officer who was maintaining the perimeter. This decisive action led to the apprehension of the two individuals, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, both residents of Franklin Township. The juveniles were subsequently taken into custody and later released to the care of a relative, with charges pending against them.
This incident serves as a testament to the vigilance and collaboration of law enforcement agencies in Gloucester County.
