Swissport International AG has achieved a significant milestone with the successful global deployment of oneApp, its innovative employee communication and engagement platform. This rollout encompasses over 60,000 employees across 44 countries who now benefit from seamless access to information, enhanced engagement tools, and streamlined work functionalities through both oneApp and its intranet counterpart, oneNet. Implemented in less than a year, the adoption of oneApp marks a pivotal advancement in Swissport’s efforts to bolster employee engagement and empower managerial staff in effectively leading their teams.
Powered by a software-as-a-service platform from FirstUp, this initiative underscores Swissport’s commitment to leveraging technology for fostering a more connected and efficient workforce worldwide. “OneApp provides our employees, particularly those on the front line, with exceptional convenience. It enables them to stay informed, empowers them to share insights, and allows them to complete tasks on the move and around the clock,” says Christoph Meier, Global Head of Communications & Brand Management at Swissport International. “For managers and supervisors across the business, oneApp is a powerful leadership instrument which allows them to stay in touch and interact with their various and often remote teams.”
The oneApp by Swissport offers a comprehensive suite of features designed to enhance connectivity and collaboration within its global workforce. It includes access to both global and local content, rosters, employee surveys, quizzes, job postings, and an employee directory. An integrated translation feature instantly converts posts, messages, and comments, facilitating seamless communication across different languages and organizational levels. Crucially, the Swissport-branded oneApp establishes a global network, promoting alignment and a sense of community among the diverse Swissport team spanning nearly 300 airports worldwide.
Swissport employees can easily download the oneApp from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, in addition to accessing a responsive desktop version. The app delivers personalized content tailored to each user’s location, business unit, and role. This new employee app seamlessly integrates into Swissport’s broader digital strategy. Recent digital advancements include the upgraded Swissport.com website, featuring a customer portal launched in 2021 and enhanced in 2024, alongside various other digital innovations across operations and back-office functions. These initiatives collectively aim to drive efficiency, enhance engagement, boost productivity, and deliver increased value to Swissport’s customers.
