Sydney will become the center of the global education technology landscape as it gears up to host the EduTECH Congress and Expo from 2025 to 2027. This major event, anticipated to generate $24 million in direct expenditure for the New South Wales (NSW) economy over the next three years, will bring together over 10,000 academics, training providers, and innovators.
The event will serve as a platform for industry leaders to share insights and showcase groundbreaking technologies that are transforming global teaching and learning. Attendees will witness more than 350 speakers and hundreds of exhibitions, featuring tech demonstrations on cutting-edge developments in education, such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, robotics, and 3D printing.
The NSW Government, with the support of Business Events Sydney (BESydney), secured the EduTECH Congress and Expo, a significant win that will position NSW as a world-leading EdTech hub. The event will showcase local businesses to investors and global clients, supporting their growth and exports into new international markets.
The next event is set for 12-13 June 2025 at the International Convention Centre Sydney. Minister for Industry and Trade Anoulack Chanthivong highlighted the importance of this return, stating that Sydney is the natural home for the EduTECH Congress and Expo. NSW boasts a diverse EdTech sector, with 273 companies transforming how teachers teach and students learn.
Acting Minister for Jobs and Tourism David Harris emphasized the economic benefits of the event, stating that NSW is a leading hub for education technology, employing 7,300 people and generating $1.4 billion annually. Securing the EduTECH Congress and Expo for the next three years is expected to inject a significant $24 million into the NSW economy.
BESydney CEO Lyn Lewis-Smith highlighted the event’s crucial role in driving innovation and productivity outcomes for years to come. She emphasized the need to skill, reskill, and upskill the future workforce for the nation’s economic transition. Sydney, as a digital innovation leader in the education sector, is the perfect location to showcase the state’s brightest minds and achievements, attract more students to its excellent institutions, and foster local and APAC collaboration opportunities.
